Last weekend Matthew, Boomer, Snoopy and I set out on our first adventure in Daisy Duke. With the camper fully loaded, we set out for Foster Lake, in Sweet Home, Oregon. We made it to Woodburn, and noticed that with the camper so heavy, the gigantic tires on the truck were rubbing the truck when we hit bumps or made sharp turns. No bueno! With the tire slightly shredded, we moved all the heavy stuff to the other side of the camper which helped a bit!
Finally we made it to Foster Lake RV Park! We plugged in the electricity, hooked up the hose, and we were in business! Who knew camping could be so easy? Nothing to haul, no coolers to lug, and a toilet right inside! :) true bliss! The park was nice, although most folks were old, and i think many lived there- we got many strange looks!
We took the raft out in the lake, and the dogs loved it! Boomer was the captain of the raft, and stood on the bow the whole time navigating the boat! Snoopy decided to dive out of the boat when we were smack dab in the middle of the lake which gave me a near heart attack. She had to wear her lifejacket from then on out! I let her swim a bit to cool her off. We had perfect weather- sunny and 80!
We had some trouble lighting a fire- i think we had bogus wood... either that or i'm really dumb. We cooked out and had hot dogs and smores... mmmm! Overall, we had a wonderful time, and can't wait for the next trip!
